ust google Aermore # 2 exhaust horn and a good bit of info comes up as to its use on different cars including a model A or T Ford (Fulton)

Just what it says. Car exhaust or try your Stanley steamer too. Not ment to be used with a lot of pressure. You should be able to make it blow a little if you have enough lung power. How much bucks did you invest in such a nice little toy? It looks like pretty go condition!

I have a whistle just like that. My dad had it in the early 1950's. He said it was off a ferry boat. He put it on his car and used to blow it approaching a RR crossing. He though it was so funny when the cars behind him stopped and looked for the train.

Those were popular accessories back in the teens and twenties for cars. They had a valve that turned them on and off like a steam whistle fitted to the exhaust pipe. They kind of pulsated the noise with every exhaust pulse from the engine. Sound a little goofy compared to steam, but they get the job done. I think some company is making the valves now. or a valve that will work.just have to search it.

PS they sounded best on cars with more cyclinders.8 cyl cars had a fairly smooth note while 4 bangers were choppy.

In the very early days (teens-20's), out west there were plank roads only wide enough for one car. Every mile there was an area where you could pull over. When you were driving in between the mile pull overs, you would use your Aermore to alert another driver coming your way and he would pull over and wait for you to pass him.

You see some of that stuff at car shows that specialize in older cars.
They sound pretty neat. Take a look at this video. A bit long but
there it is !
plank road.
