Got a chance to put that little dump trailer on a scale. I just used a bathroom scale under the tires and tongue. Got 225 lbs at each wheel and 80 lbs at the tongue.

I tried the same thing--bent my scale. :) Too much weight concentrated in the center. I got the scale working again and plan to use a board under the tires to spread the weight more--just haven't had time.

Simplest way to weigh it at home I can think of is to sling the trailer from a pulley , other end of the rope to to a suspended plastic barrel . Fill with water until the trailer lifts ,then calculate the weight of the water . The weigh bridge at the local scrap dealer might be easier though :)

The easiest way and the most accurate way would be to take the trailer to a truck stop with a scale and weigh your truck and trailer and subtract the weight of the truck from the total. If you don't know the weight of your truck you can disconnect the trailer and weigh the truck and then do re-weigh again with the trailer and truck. Then you would have a certified weight to show the state when licensing. The cost with the re-weigh is only around 15 bucks.

That trailer came out nice. I like the different expressions on the kid's faces. The expressions probably match their personalities.
