Testing Machine

Anyone have or know how to test a 12 volt generator with a Associated Equipment Corporation 8600 Series machine? I've seen them tested on this machine but don't know how to set it to test. Manual only shows how to test starter or alternator. The owner died that had it.

Didn't read the whole thing, but didn't see anything about generators. But if it will test an alternator, should be able to figure out how to test a generator. Need to know the field arrangement of the particular generator.

years ago I worked at an alternator starter shop for a short period of time, so I'm not exactly fresh on the issue. As I recall you need to know the harness wiring A system vs B system wiring. Then using a known correct system good voltage regulator ( or In some cases a cut out) we would wire everything between the two as they would be on the tractor. We usually used alligator clip jumper wires. From there we would connect the tester leads to the appropriate connections and test as usually.

I agree on the A circuit and B circuit. In general, I think there is more A ones than B.
