Truck Cranes

What is the correct name for a hoist on a truck that has an I beam and trolley mounted over the bed? The I beam extends past the bed end and is supported by legs to the truck bed/frame.
I have a heavy duty lumber rack and was looking for ideas on constructing a lift using the rack, but can't find anything on that design.

Thanks

Most of those around here set burial vaults or propane tanks, I believe they call them gantry cranes

Used to see them in the concrete business. They were used to haul man hole castings and septic tanks.Never knew what the were badged. Haven't saw one in years. Now they all use boom trucks .

That is correct Joe! and to slowpoke, a gantry crane most usually has 4 legs.( Retired crane mechanic ) Ralph

have seen them with 2 and 4 legs, Bill

We had these at work for lifting 12 cylinder engines. That was back in the 1950's then I was drafted. Hal
