My favorite mole trap

I've tried about every trap on the market. The victor trap works best for me. I got mine at Rural King. When it rains, moles are active. I've had a lot of rain. I got 2 moles out of the same run in two days.

I cover my trap with a bucket to keep the lawn mower from running it over. Lost a few traps that way, not to mention chips in blade.

Geo,

I have an obligation to respond....

After spending a bunch of cash on mole eradication items. I found Mole eliminator to be my go-to method. I've trapped roughly twelve or thirteen last season, got another two or three this year.

Spent lots on spring-fork traps, pepper/garlic poison/professional exterminator/grub eliminator, etc.

Just had simple luck with the trap. Not an endorser, or nothing, just stating what I found works for me and my terrain.

mole eliminator $36:

My victor, $10:

So what's the difference? $26. It looks like they grab the mole with claws and the trigger is in the middle, similiar design concept. Yours may easier to set. Mine only takes seconds, but I have to get on my knees. I rarely have my trap tripped and the mole gets away.

The first year I got mine, I got a about 50 moles. Keep in mine I have two different places and over 6 acres to trap. I don't keep score anymore. I have about 6 traps. I Keep the ones not in use in back of truck, set one when I see activity. My record is 6 moles out of the same run. Not all at the same time. Some runs are like express ways.

showcrop,
I've never heard of milky spores, so I googled it. Is the bacterial harmful to humans,
food in garden? Can it get in my well?
milky spores

Showcrop.

An acre is 43560 sq ft. $85 to treat 10,000 sq ft. That translates in to major bucks to
treat my lawn. Many of my moles come from woods and neighbors property.

Milky spores may work for small yards, but I can't see it working for me.

Anyone want the moles I trap? Some say the fur feels nice. They may even taste like
chicken. I just leave mine in the mole run and let the worms eat on them. Seem right,
they eat the worms and grubs so why not return the favor?
85 for 10,000 sq ft

The answer to your question is in the deff. That you linked. it says not harmful to lawns, animals, or man.

The five years is the key part of it. I have other ythings to do.

ditto on a good cat.

I used to have a cat that would set in the window and watcht he yard then all of a sudden run to the door to be let out. that cat would run out and run backin in 5 seconds toting a mole. she was a mole terminator.

that was long ago and she is gone. Have a new barn cat that has feed in the barn, and a cat door, but she mostly hangs with the horses. She gets anything furry or feathery that is not livestock. ( weird.. she won't touch chicks or chickens.. but let some other bird come in and POW ). she even once took a rabbit so bit that I am unsure how she drug it in thru the cat door to the barn.... was a bit of a mess to clean up, however i was impressed!

Geo,

For some odd reason, I can't explain my response to your post. I was simply stating what works for me. I did not intend to suggest your way was inferior or more expensive.

I hope you find this response in the manner it was meant. Moles begone!

A friend of mine got 2 cats for barn critter control, they turned fat and lazy from always having a good supply of cat food. He complained that the cats would literally watch critters and mice eat their own cat food. I suggested to him to stop feeding the cats or cut way back on the food. Strangely the cats thinned up some and his critter problem disappeared.
