I have been trying to fix major steering issues on my 40B for years, finally found and ordered replacement steering arm, Finally had a chance to try to install new arm today, it does not work, the linkage hole on the one side is upside down from the original, and the arm is a bit different but I thought it would work.
Now my question, can I take the original arm to a machine shop, have them weld in the screwed up key way and then have them cut a new one in? Seems like it should be possible, but I was not sure. Since I can not get a new part.
