Wood splitter

I finally got around to taking a picture of the splitter that I built. The beam is a piece of bridge crane rail and I bought a cylinder and hoses at Northern tool. I use the loader valve with a long control rod, and my wife usually runs it for me. We only do a few cords a year but we have a lot of Elm that is impossible to split by hand. anything to heavy to lift I put on our trailer with the fel and then I can just roll the blocks onto the beam. It only figures out to about 12 ton but it splits anything we have!
