Recommend me a cross-slide vise

I want to get a decent cross-slide vise for my drill press table. I don't need anything machinist level accurate, but decent quality, 5 or 6" capacity, little or no slop.

$100-ish price range, more is okay for the right unit, up to say twice that. More than that ain't gonna happen, my old Crapsman drill press isn't accurate enough to be worth the expense.

Any at the link qualify based on your experience?

They are a handy tool.I had one several years ago.Good quality but sort of clumsy. I bought this and really like it better. Another advantage is this will hold up top an 8 inch square piece.. Don't get me wrong cross vises are handy, but for me this works better. I gotta couple of different vises that I use .
One thing to know is they work for drilling but not milling.

I replaced 2 of the gib adjusters with socket head screws. When you get it lined up it can be locked down. Good Luck.

I would prefer the style charlie n showed. PhaseII is Chinese, but decent quality. Probably better to search Ebay or Craigs to find a quality used one than Harbor Freight new.

You can use hold down bolts.I just invert carriage bolts.

Enco.com sometimes has the china versions on good discount. See web site for sale and overstock flyers.
