Robots building bridge

That is interesting and thought provoking as well. It makes me continue to wonder about the future my grandkids will have to make a living in. It's a cinch it can't print jobs for welders and iron workers.

uilding & repairing robots?

Gary;

Worst case scenario is that it might not be something that anyone has to worry about. Stephen Hawking recently said something along these lines: When we get to the point of developing robots with artificial intelligence which have the ability to reproduce (manufacture) and improve themselves, and we give them the ability to decide whether to kill or not kill human beings, then we'll be at a crossroads which may lead to our extinction.

When you see or read about how humans in Nevada who control drones in the Middle East decide when they will fire a missile to kill a suspected terrorist, it's not hard to see that those parameters could be entered into a computer surveillance program so that human beings there could be killed with no human input on our part---in other words, machines deciding when to kill humans. This was pure science fiction in 1970 when the movie "Colossus: The Forbin Project" was made, and mostly science fiction in 1984 when the movie "The Terminator" was made, but it's within sight now.
