Been checking tool prices

Have been checking tool prices; most of them have gone higher. However, I found that Lowes and Home Depot are lower priced on quite a few tools than Harbor Freight and Amazon for the same basic tools. Yes, all made in China, but that's the world that we live in. Looks like Lowes and HD are undercutting their competition.

This is very true. I have stopped buying tools at all of these places as well as Sears for some stuff due to being made in China. They may all have a lifetime warranty but it always seems to happen that when a tool fails it is when you need it the most.

I have started buying from local real tool shops and have been getting S-K brand made right here in the Land of the Free and Brave and have yet to break one of the S-K sockets or wrenches yet.

Now before anyone starts yelling at me I know I pay a pretty good premium for USA made tools. But when you consider the time you have to go back and forth replacing a broken one I think I come out cheaper in the long run and have better quality tools.

Just wish I could find USA made smaller tool boxes. Have been buying those made in Israel but they are holding up real well so far.

I have two SK socket sets one 1/4 and one 3/8. I bought them back in the 80's when I was mowing lawns on summer vacation. The 1/4 set cost me $25.00 and the 3/8 set was $85.00. They have been very good. I have not broken anything. Haven't even lost any sockets... yet!
