Sears/Craftsman table saw

Trying to find some info on an old Sears/Craftsman table saw. My grandfather had 1 almost identical to this 1: http://buffalo.craigslist.org/tls/5031181467.html. The rip fence was the same and it had the threaded adjustment for the rip fence. Anyone know what the model number for it might be?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

My old Sears has a knob that turns to move the fence. Is this what you mean? model # 113-27520

Yours is in much better shape than mine. Dad probably bought it around 1950; Sears sold a zillion as I see them at auctions frequently. Very good saw they take a real beating.

I have one of those saws. The up and down gear teeth were stripped when I purchased it. I welded the gear up and a friend of mine cut the gear teeth in his machine shop and it is fine now. Very steady saw and it has the knob for making a final adjustment on the rip fence setting. The wide table extensions on mine are solid on one side and open weave looking aluminum on the other side.

Thanks to everyone for their info.

1948CaseVAI; I checked out that site and determined that my Grandfather's saw had been made by the Atlas Company for Sears.and would have been a 1930s model.

auggy53 Thanks for the offer but I need to pass for now. Your saw is a little newer and different manufacturer. The Atlas made equipment serial numbers started with 101.

Jim: I agree with Bonnan, that is a nice looking saw.

Also, I found a picture on the Garage Journal website of a saw identical to Grandpa's. It belonged to the Great Grandfather of the poster.

Best Regards

A very good saw.The only weak point I know of is the rip fence. After making an adjustment with the knob, make sure that of the fence is parallel to the blade.

I have a saw much like that except the extension wings are cast iron and look much like expanded/stretched metal.
I bought it at an auction many years ago.
When Home Depot first opened, Rigid offered an extension wing that would also hold their rotter. I would have ordered one but you needed to know the model number of your saw, and mine has no model number on it.

What I do is- after I have the fence set where I want, I then measure from the fence over to the edge of the slot where the miter gauge runs. Do this on both ends of the fence and it should be straight.
