montana 545dtc with jd165

I just bought jd 165 back hoe and can't get it to work with my montana 545 DtC. That 165 appears stock. Any thoughts?

One probably has open center hydraulics and the other has
closed center hydraulics.

how do I determine that and I assume they have to match. Any thoughts on that part of the problem?

Your Montana has open center hydraulics. the JD 165 hoe is factory set with closed center hydraulics. I think the JD 165 how can be switched to open center hydraulics. You would need to look at a JD 165 hoe manual.
