Update on my firewood elevator build.

It is beginning to look like something other than a bunch of steel Kubota crates. Been doing lots of cutting and migwelding, to get to this point. The elevator trough is 11'5"long. Thats what I came up with after cutting the crates apart. The hydraulic orbit motor and sprocket and the idler sprocket on the upper end will make it a bit over 12'.
The elevator trough is 16" wide and V shaped as you can see. I will be welding in 20G. sheet steel to enclose the V trough, and mill out an Ash wood, flat bottom for the chain to ride on. The Ash board will bolt to the cross members and clamp the sheet metal to the bottom of the trough.
The lifting strutt has pipe bushings welded into the tubing to prevent excess ware at the pivot point, and I bought these little roller bearing rollers, which will run on some 1/4" rod spot welded to the bottom of the frame where the carragie will run.
Got the lower hopper pretty well fabed up in my mind. Just need to put it all together now.
I plan on fabing up a simple roll up crank from pipe and light cable to raise and lower the elevator assy.
Still need to fab up the discharge chute on the top end, build the hyd. motor mtg. bracket at the base, the idler bracket at the top, and the drawbar frame. Probably going to have to design some support guides underneith, for the #62 chain as it returns to the bottom also.
O-Well, next week is on the way.

Good Evening Loren

Are you doing this in between your wood cutting ? With all the wood you have to cut I bet no one has to Rock You To Sleep at Night.

They say that were supposed to get some rain either Mon . or Tue. I sure hope so .
The City has been on my Tail because they want Grass in the front yard . I told them that I had sprayed Round Up on the weeds to kill them out & the bottle said that I would have to wait 4 Mons. They said that they would allow 90 days . I asked them if they were going to pay for the re tilling & reseeding when it didn t come up. Finally after they read the instructions on the Jug they said they would give until the 1st of Aug.
Always something they have to b---h about

Eventually you will add one more assembly and stand back and see that you own a firewood processor.

You get to the woods with your whole rig and the firewood will just jump right into the trailer all cut and split out of pure fear from the sight of you coming! Won't be anyneed for you to even get out of the tractor cab. Lol. Looks good Loren, should help a lot.

I was going to build something like that to load wood coming off the splitter, That is till I happened to find this one that was headed to the scrap yard. Right place at the right time I guess, I but a pull cord on the engine poured some gas in the tank gave it a good pull and to my surprise it fired up and ran good! I bought several pieces from the same guy that was just going to cut them up for scrap. I use it just like your going to use yours for, Sure saves the back! Your doing a heck of a job building it, Looks like a right proper build to me. 2 thumbs up! Bandit
