another use for a needle scaler

I needed to clean the under side, of my wheelhorse 42" mower deck. It had about 1" thick layer of dried soil and grass juice, on it. I was using a narrow putty knife and hitting it, with a mallet, and it was mighty slow going. I grabbed my air powered needle scaler, from the welding bench, removed the 3 blades, from themower, and the scaler, flew thru the job, in short order. I have too many mole mounds, and the mower gets a lot of dirt on the under side. I wanted to share that remedy with you guys, though you probably already do it.

When you clean the under side of mower deck is a good time to apply, bedliner in can spray, it sticks to the metal good and helps to prevent rust.
To keep grass from sticking I use fluid film.

After reading Harry2 comments I would like to know what fluid film is and does it work good. Thanks

ObsoElitist! I am on my 2nd concrete mixer, and don't loan it out. I wish I had not loaned the 1rst one, and I WOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED ANOTHER. May be I should have thought of the needle scaler back then?

When you loan out your cement mixer. I know how people do not understand that cement sticks! When your 1 1/2 wheel barrows worth of mixer is now 1/2 of a wheel barrow! I just love when they say "I didn't know...why didn't you tell me"! The drum must be washed NOW ..not after you laid several heaps of cinder blocks!
Just love the episode of Mythbusters with the Mack truck they blow up.

Just love the episode of Mythbusters with the Mack truck they blow up.

The Carson Hill quarry where they did that is about 15 miles away. A friend has a piece of that truck, a door striker that is very twisted.
I have three late 30s to mid-40s Kohring-Dandie 3/4 yard mixers with 4 cyl engines. They weight 3000 Lbs and have a Hercules, a LeRoy, and a Wiscomson engines. Drums are clean enough but crust was everywhere

Ralphwd45.
Thanks for the info, always needed one and never bought the scaler, we always used a wire wheel brush.
It's on our "get list" next month.

I have also used one after welding on aluminum castings for antique cars to stipple the weld to make it look like no welding was done

I've seen people put a stipple finish on wood with those things. Always wondered how they do it without destroying the wood. Must use low pressure and light touch. Probably grind the needles dull too.
