YES. There is an adj nut on the governor and I calm it down when on no load which I haven't loaded it yet.

(quoted from post at 19:04:06 04/25/15) I would be careful about going below running speed. It can burn up regulators.
The adjuster is made for throttle control with a curved slot and it regulates governor like on a tractor.

Very cool. How did you find this? I've been keeping my eyes out for an old army compressor. Something that will pump out 4500psi or higher. I've heard you can get good deals on them because most people need a smaller, quitter unit. Not a giant deisel noise maker. But that just fine by me:).

If it is an Onan then go to smokestack.com then to generator, then the onan section. Post the serial # and model and some body will e-mail you a manual.( You got to ask for one).Great site

You will need to go to the military section of Smokstak.Onan didn't have information on the gen section. That was controlled by the military.

I had to go to liberatedmanuals.com to find the engine manual. I think I can get the generator part of manual there also, but haven't done so yet. The engine manual was something like 255 pages but I pared it down to 60 pages although I have it all on a flash drive. Very time consuming.

Over the years I have bought about a dozen generators for the engines. They all were
400 cycles except one. It ia clearly marked on the steel tag.
