Its better. The N95 mask is not oil or solvant resistant so the fibers will break down if exposed and allow more dust through (or fail completely). The N95 filter also only filters 95% of the dust particles out of the air. Basically it removes the largest particles, the gravel if you will and the rest goes in your lungs.

The resperator you picked is much better, assuming you keep buying the P100 filter cartridges. That cartridge is P rated so its oil proof and wont break down when exposed to oils/solvents. The 100 rating means it catches 99.97% of the dust so less gets in your lungs. It dont sound like much of a big deal untill you realize that its the smallest and finest particles that get in your lungs and kill you. Mother nature made sure your nose hairs grab the most of the dust, you need a good filter to grab the smallist particles that your nose cant get.

Keep it clean, wash it as needed (with filters removed) and replace it when needed. It should last a good year in normal use, filters maybe twice a year depending on how dusty it is where you are working.

I sure wish we had the option of this kind of equipment when I was doing so much welding/grinding! I'm paying for it now.
