Can you tell me where I can find a magnaflex magnet , to find cracks with ? Thanks Tim

Probably easier to just replace FLY WHEEL and no doubt SAFER>

You need to use a machine to magnaflux a steel part. You're better off to find a machine shop somewhere that does that, and have them look for cracks. Only takes a few minutes. They might even use liquid penetrant. In any case, the flywheel will need to be cleaned and degreased for NDT to work.

Not a home style procedure. However ther is a non magnetic magnaflux set of three spray cans for crack finding . First can is like a red formaldahyde die that penetrates any cracks ,second spray is a desenex foot powder type srpray to help find the cracks. Third as I remember is a cleaner. I use it mostly to find holes in welded tanks. It is made by Magnafulx it is not magnetic and may work for what you are doing and may not.

Typically, there's used kits for sale on ebay. I bought one there several years back.

Can you take it to a machine shop with the equipment to properly check it?

When I worked in a machine shop we use a electro-maganet machine to mag heads and blocks and flywheels.
The 3 can system was used on aluminium parts but no reason to not use on flywheel.

I just spent 45 minutes looking for one on fleabay, sorry no luck
