Saw two neat old things at the flea market today. The weed burner is actually for setting back fires in the woods. Ran on kerosene and held three gallons. He only wanted ten bucks for it. What in the world am I going to do with it? It was in pretty nice shape!
The car jack had all cast wheels with two large on the front and two swivels on the rear. was only 1/2 ton lift. This guy wanted $300.oo! Collectors piece? Fun fun Jeffcat

Yea just had a little trouble loading the pics. That burner was nice but what would I do with it? I do have a propane tank one that works REAL good.

(quoted from post at 23:56:04 04/16/15) $300! No way! That's why it's called "merchandise" on the way to the sale, and "junk" when he carts it back home! LOL
f jack were mine, I would sure sell it to you for $300, too!!

WOW, I have one of those jacks, except mine is even older. That is the second one I've ever seen. At least now I know who probably made mine. The one I have belonged to my grandfather. I tried to buy it from him in the 70's and he wouldn't sell it to me. My aunt gave it to me after my grandmother many years after he passed and we found it in the woods after someone tried to steal it. LOL. It was too heavy to steal and they gave up and abandoned it. LOL. The one I have looks very crude like Fred Flintstone used it.

When I was a little younger, the local volunteer fire department was going to burn an old barn as training. They worked for over 4 hours trying to get it lit without any success. We sat near the road laughing about it. Finally, dad said he could get it burning in about 15-20 minutes. A couple fire men made a bet he could not. Dad went to our barn and got a weed burner exactly like the one pictured, filled it up, and in under 20 minutes the barn was roaring. Word got around our small community quickly that if there was ever a case of unsolved arson, these people would not even be considered as suspects.

Dang! You got lots better "fleas" than what I got out here. You can have the Jack & Weed Burner, I already have an old 1 1/2 ton Hein-Werner Floor Jack & a good Propane weed burner. I'd be more interested in those Porta-Power Rams. LOL

My dad worked on the railroad he was using one of those. It blew up and my dad just about lost his leg. Have you ever smelled burt flesh when you 7 you never forget. The meat just fell off! Don't use it. I'm 64 now and haven't forgot.
