12V double pole double throw switch

The control for my sprayer booms (electric/hydraulic) has a couple of bad switches. They are double pole (on) off (on) momentary with neutral in the middle. Six spade terminals. The toggles are about an inch long, maybe an inch and a quarter and round. I can find all kinds of DPDT momentary switches on the net but they have the normal length toggles. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find a couple of these switches with long toggles?

OK here are pics of the setup. Last night I was too tired to think about removing the switch from the rats nest of wires but this morning I'm a little more clear so I drew a diagram and took it out for a photo op.

The elect/hyd four spool hyd valve is fed by a single spool valve that reverses the flow into the four spool valve to reverse functions like boom swing in/out so any combination of two valves are operated at one time when the switch is moved. WHEW!
This switch setup is not factory. It replaces a three pedal foot operated valve that takes up room on the cab floor. The dealer who made this setup did a good job but he's no longer in business and inaccessible so I'm on my own.

Now I find out I might need the sprayer today! AARGH!

Radio shack is a start. From what you are telling it sounds like double pole double throw center neutral.

Fixerupper,Check for a light switch for a semi, at a truck repair shop or dealer.A lot of them are DPDT toggle with a long stem.

I need a momentary switch, one that returns to off when the switch is let go of. Just checked Radio Shack and they have double pole but not momentary. International semis have a double pole switch, up is headlights and down is parking lights but it stays on with no center neutral.

Have you tried Digi-Key?

You can search their on-line parts finder. They show they have 22,813 separate toggle switch part numbers available, and are GREAT to deal with.

Mouser electronics will have those. I've bought little things from them and they were reasonable on cost and shipping.
Local hardware store has them but that doesn't do you much good!

Think outside the box, If you need a switch that shuts off when you let go, use a push
button switch and connect it to a 12v relay.

The Surplus Center has them. I have gotten them from there for use on round baler threader controls. The toggle may not be as long as you want though. You want DPDT-CO-Momentary.

I would order 2 or 3 if made in China. Have had the best luck with those toggle switches made in Mexico or India. Just thinking I ordered the last ones I uses thru NAPA under the STANDARD brand. They were worth the extra money. It was a few years ago and I am not sure if they can still get them or not.

Thank you all for the information and links to websites. I have them bookmarked. Due to the urgency of the moment I picked up a couple of switches from a local electrical supply but they have the short handle or toggle as I call it and they are very stiff so I consider them temporary until I find the right ones. I might crimp a short piece of brake line onto the toggle to extend it for the time being. Thanks again. Jim

Although Radio Shack closed many of their non-performing stores, they are still in business. My 'local' store actually has better stock than during the time before the closures.

I get my industrial switches from Del City: http://www.delcity.net/

They have a good variety of medium and heavy duty switches, with several operator styes and contact configurations, including DPDT Center Off, Momentary Contact.

Good prices and quick service.

But the thing is they are no longer true radio shack stores since radio shack is out of business.

Thanks Den. I had glanced at McMaster Carr last night and didn't find switches with 1 1/2 inch long toggles. One site I was on showed an exact picture of the switch I need at the top of the page but I couldn't find it listed. It's there somewhere, it just hasn't jumped out at me yet and to be honest I haven't taken the time to look thoroughly. The two switches I bought at the electric supply this morn do work and got me going. I crimped a 1 1/2 inch long piece of steel brake tube over the toggle and it does operate OK but it looks cobbled and I don't like the cobbled look.

The amount of information we common people have available to us today because of websites like YT is mind boggling. I love it!
