Sandblasting Hood

I got a sandblasted recently so now I need a good hood, big enough for my respirator inside and takes replaceable lenses. What works good for you?

I second that (Bullard) and you will need the "tear offs" for the lens. Also forget the respirator and just rig up some type fan to plumb to the hose on the hood for fresh air and no fogging up.

With my little 20* sandblaster I use the back yard. I wait till there is a nice breeze. Stand up wind of the item and wear a good double filter mask and a pair of good wrap around goggles. You get really good and coated with sand, but it is not every day. Now what you are asking....get a good hood, I like the idea of that removeable view plate! Lastly is a supply of fresh air. You want an OILESS compressor. They are cheep enough and you don't need a whole lot of "make up" air. Just enough to maintain a positive pressure. If there is any oil in the air it will smother your a$$. Like dead fersure! See if you can find a supply store that really knows what they are talking about and ask questions!! Jeffcat
