I have a used Delta Unisaw that I picked up several months ago. It's a major improvement over the 30 year old cheap saw I had.
But recently it has trouble starting or keeping running.
It has a nice 3HP 220V Delta motor. I checked the starter out, it is a Furnas. One contact has seen some arcing. I think the previous owner must have put the starter together out of a pile of mismatched parts. The starter has a transformer which is off by itself, I assume it is to reduce the voltage for the starter. Never seen one set up like that. There are no part numbers on the starter to identify the model.
So my question is can this be repaired or should I junk it and just get a new complete unit which matches the motor specs?
Thanks in advance for your help.
