acetylene soldering torch

Pulled out the torch and "B" tank yesterday to replace a valve on some copper piping. It's been several years and flame lites but has no pressure. I can't remember what the problem is; can anybody give me a clue?. Tank has a small Linde regulator and gage shows 3/4 full.

When you put the tank away did you uncrank the knob on the regulator???? Bad boy if you didn't. Regulator spring has compressed. Other is the regulator is just bad. Can be rebuilt with a kit but have it done by someone who knows their stuff. Last choice just buy a new plumbers torch and get everything new.

My welding supply salesman says these cylinders were originally developed for early transportation.
B=Buggy
MC=Motorcycle
I don't know if this is true, but helps me remember the size of the cylinders.
