Gave up on the old puter yesterday and bought a new Dell 23" All-In-One computer that opens up a lot of space on the desktop. Now we have to learn all the new things about 8.1, but that will take awhile. Today's struggle will be to transfer all the data from the old tower. Really like the big monitor.

While we were at it, bought a new printer to replace the last piece of HP item that we have.

I've had a Gateway all in one 23" for my desktop for two years. It's great except it has a shiny screen instead of a flat or matte finish. If I don't have it positioned just right on my desk I have problems with glare. But, I have a large west window in my office.

Last fall when I was assured of becoming a County Commissioner, I bought a new laptop to take to meetings. I was aware that there would be a large window behind me where my seat would be. I wanted a laptop with Windows 7 Pro and a non-glare screen. Had to special order one from Amazon to get what I wanted, but it was worth it.

Might I recommend a book to go along with your new computer? Not exactly sure of the title, but it should be in the "Missing Manual" series published by O'Reilly. The version for W7 was written by David Pogue.

A lady at our church bought a new 8.1 machine and also bought the book. She's very happy with her new computer as well as the book.
