Hein-Werner Air Jack

I recently inherited a Hein-Werner Air Jack from a family member who has been a mechanic since the 50's. Does anyone know anything about these jacks? I haven't really used it as of yet. It seems to be built pretty good.

Bumper jack not much use for them anymore today. May come in handy for some things. Haven't touched mine in years.

Used an OTC version for servicing buses. Worked good for that.

What ever you use it on it must be able to roll are it will kick out as you go up... The car must be in neutral :!: In there day they were the cat's meow....Like the other poster mine have been parked for decades... It should auto-lock as it goes up if not find out why... Its noting more than a pipe with a seal/cup on a stand...

After I went to above ground lifts I also threw out my long underwear... Its cold working on the floor

on todays new cars they are useless, too much plastic etc.

I have one by a different manufacturer and use it often. Of course I don't really work on cars. Mine will lift the front of most tractors. It also works good for trailer work.
