The way it used to be

Neat video, but about the OSHA nonsense, not sure about that quit so much. I worked at an underground sand mine and I thought someone was going to get killed with all the rock falls they had. MSHA finally stepped in and shut them down till they got all the highways bolted and meshed.

That is a great video, ran across it a while back. That was one of the things I noticed, complete lack of any protective gear, even pouring the iron castings! Tougher than I am!

Reminded me of a story an old man told me a few years back, when he worked at a steel mill. His job was pulling rebar out of a furnace. Had to wear an asbestos suit... It was so hot they could only stand a 20 minute exposure, then get out for 40 minutes.

There was a bar across the street, that's where they would head, slam a few beers, back to work.
My, how times have changed!

Great video.

Although any time I watch something like that, it makes me sad knowing that our manufacturing days are behind us.

Thanks for the link, I enjoyed it, but if you think safety in the workplace is nonsense then I think you don't have much common sense.
