I have an elect.ice auger like that but mins is an
Ice Gator. It is a 46 volt and drills twice as fast
as the one in your picture. I can go thru 30 inches
of ices in about 3 seconds. I also have a shanty
that is a flip over like the one in the picture

We had a similar tent to use out on Lake St. Clair when I was a kid. Needed to chop a few extra holes to tie it down when the wind was blowing, but better than sitting in the open.

You talk about tying the shanty down. I was fishing on a lake close to me a couple years ago and ice was like glass. As I was fishing I heard a lot of racket and look up to see a shanty going by with someone inside it. They must have been doing 30 MPH and was trying to stop. Half way across the lake they got stopped and came back over by me. The guys only comment was now I have to get new boots as mine don't have any souls left and I asked him if he needed anything else. He said maybe new shorts.

I've been curious about those electric ice augers. They're not real popular around here yet. (Massachusetts).

I'm wondering how many holes you can get out of one charge. That's my biggest concern.

When we go out, there's usually a big group - so 5 holes each, each auger might have to drill a good 25 - 30 holes easily. 50 or more if only one person brings an auger.

I'd be afraid of having it die half way through.

On mine thru 20 plus inches of ice I can put 60 or more holes in. I use a 7 inch auger. My biggest fear was how the battery would hold up in below zero weather but so far so good. The one pictured is an Ion which is a good auger and mine is an Ice Gator. On mine the blade turns faster so it goes thru faster. The fist time I used mine we had over 30 inches of ice and I was amazed the difference between it and the gas one I had. I put 5 holes in before I could have got one done with my gas
