I just traded up from an 07 Chevy with a flatbed hauler body to a 13 Chevy with a regular shortbed pickup body. I grew to dislike the flatbed for a number of reasons and am glad to have a regular bed back. However, I have two 36" Montezuma triangle shape tool boxes that I absolutely love and cant be without on my truck. They worked great mounted on the front of each side of the flatbed without interfering with the gooseneck hitch.
On the new truck, I am thinking of trying to mount them on some type of tray that can stay locked in place at the cab but slide out to the end of the tailgate when needed. The truck has a B@W hitch mounted already in the bed.
Does anyone have any pics of something similar that they have done or any ideas of a better way to mount that kind of tool box that wont interfere with towing and visibility?
Thanks!
