Steering Box Bushing Removal Tool For A TO30

Does anyone know where I can purchase the bushing removal tool for a TO30 steering box. I want to replace the bushings but I am unsure which bushing removal tool set will work. I have seen on Youtube a man knocking out his bushings on a 35 steering box with a most handy looking tool that looked specific for the job. Are there still specific tools available for my job? Thanks, Scott5

Not sure where to go look for one, probably
something you would have to make, or have made,
or find someone that would loan you one.

Getting the bushing out is easy, even without a
tool. Just grind a small punch to a spoon shape,
get beside the bushing and carefully collapse it
inward. Be careful not to gouge the housing bore
though!

The problem is getting the thin-wall bushing back
in without damaging it. A tool is almost a
necessity for getting it in. You can buy universal bushing removal/install tools. They come with an assortment of stepped discs that may or may not fit your application. For the tool to work, it must fit near perfect for the thin wall bushing, otherwise it will either be too large to pass through the housing bore, or try to wedge inside the bushing. Be careful!

As long as the bushing is not bottomed out in the bore, i have
used a pilot bearing puller to remove bushings. I have an old
snap on puller.

Measure your bushing and look for something that fits. On the old Ross box on my Deere a 1/2 galvanized pipe works perfect.

I got no idea if it's in a blind hole or what size but I've replaced a lot of bushings with a kit like this and a cape chisel. This chisels' been ground and touched up for 40 years so it's getting short but it'll cut a 1/4" slot in a bushing and this driver kit goes to an inch and a quarter and or you can grind your own chisel and make some kind of driver.

Everyone, thank you for your posts and the great information provided. I have purchased a bushing tool set like the one pictured. I have seen these sets before but wasn't 100% sure this was what I needed. From all the posts and information I am going into this job with a lot more confidence. Again, thanks to everyone for the help.
