anyone know of a source for 'spring' type electric heating elements. This is an upright, two element. but no model or real name.

ckain(MI),

The picture seems to indicate that your heater is a "Patton" brand heater. You might want to visit their website to get an idea of the model number. Then, there are lots of sites that have repair parts available for Patton space heaters,

Good luck,

Looks like it is a PQH307-UM. Says it is currently unavailable online. Just look up patton space heaters, they have a web site.

Thanks for replys. I have not located a parts source, yet. having a model number will help. I see a few recalls for Patton! Not this model. I did find one of these listed on Amazon.Com. Listed as a 'Quartz' heater.
Now has anyone seen a Quartz Lamp ? ? They are not an electric coil inside a glass tube! Which is what this heater has. I think this is a fake and a big rip off. The frosted glass tubes do resemble a Quartz lamp. but it is just electric coils, like the older electric ranges used. What do you think ? ?

I wondered about taking one of my heaters apart as one side stopped working. For the cost of a new one and less chance of a fire hazard you might be farther ahead to buy a new heater. It is close to spring and you might get a good closeout deal.

I would not substitute anything that didn't match the original exactly, as in wattage, voltage, length, and mounting. Odds of finding such, and not paying more than the heater would cost to replace, are slim.

Too much could go wrong, fire hazard being the worst, investing too much money, then having another component fail, like the thermostat, are also considerations.

Looks like its the same as Holmes HQH307 Prismatic Quartz Tower Heater

In the long run probably cheaper to buy a new one and be done wit hit. I can buy them all day long for $20 and up. Have one in this room that on sale and with my Vet discount cost me less then $15
