My dentist uses a small camera that she puts in my mouth and it shows up on a big tv screen-are these very expensive and where would you get one ? I know about the standard inspection ones from snap-on-they have a very small screen, hard to see with old eyes.

I think those are called "endoscopes". The really top quality ones are probably quite pricey, but there are some cheapies also. Might find them on Amazon.

If you buy a used endoscope, make sure you know what it was used for! The medical profession puts cameras in places your mother wouldnt go! Phil

There are other ones (very pricey) that I have used in industry. They are lighted fiber optic and as thin as a thread (could look into a tooth cavity) and we used to use them to inspect the inside of medical needles.

These are really useful and economical , the length of cable means that it can have a number of uses as well . I once used a similar one to help remove a flying insect that got stuck in my ear , I had no one to help , the camera made it easy to remove without piercing my brain !
