Western Plow

Just picked a Chevy plow truck with a Western plow. The plow trips way to easy, just scraping the gravel trips it. Can I get heavier springs for it?

I'm used to my Fisher. You'd have to hit a boulder before it would trip.

I'm sure heavier are available, but new sure would help.
I always preferred my fisher while others liked their westerns.

Tighten the adjustment nuts on the top of the springs. Tighten them till the plow acts like you want. Should be no need for new springs.

Does it have the skid shoes ?? if it does then set them for about and inch between the cutting edge and the ground and adjust the trip springs . If you do not have the skid shoes then get the ones for a Western plow .Myself i like a Western over the Myers . They work way better then the Myers plow when off hard pavement . I plowed commercial for twenty years and i had a lot of gravel lanes and drives never had my Western ever try and dig up gravel , We will not go into the #%&*&%##@ Myers on a non paved surface.
