the thread below about "you can believe what people tell you" reminded me of my smart analysis did to me one time. Resurrected an old ford wagon from a junkyard and fixed a few things, got it going again. But the fuel gage did not work and so I dropped the car off at the Ford dealer near work.
Paid the bill started the car and gauge still did not work. Went into the service dept. and they said they replaced the fuel gauge, "just what you asked us to do." I should have asked them to "fix the fuel gage"! Turned out all it took was a wood screw wedged between the tank and the support strap!! Taken me 40 years to admit to that!
