On the way to town the county boys were working. No
snow to remove so they were clearing the brush
along the road.

If I had to clear 30 ft by a mile, I would either
buy one or invent something. No way would I kill my
self using a chainsaw.

Ya I would love one of those. As for the chain saw the boy and his friends will be running them not me. I will be driving the truck with the trailer to haul the brush off

Here I was feeling sorry for you thinking you were going to run the saw.

Hope you have a dump trailer. Before I bougth a dump trailer, I would put a chain down on trailer about mid way. Put the large part of the branch towards the end of the trailer. Then I would back up to a tree next to the fire pit. Connect chain to tree and pull forward. It took me a while to get smart. Just before the branches were all the way off trailer, I would back up again and remove the tension on the chain. Then when I pulled away, the branches were on the ground. I had to load them, the chain and tree unloaded them.

Now I made forks for my terramite, so the terramite loads the dump trailer. Saves a lot of time. After a bad wind storm, I had 25 loads of branches to haul off. I loaded branches up to 14 ft long. Actually, I loaded everything, then used chain saw to shorten them.

No dump trailer but again boy power. The son is planning party this summer with a bon fire so he wants to do the driveway as a way to get stuff to burn.

Always better to get someone else to do the work. When my kids were little, they were always big helps. Now they are big, little helps.

I have been worried about you doing all that work also. I know I could not do it at 62.
Glad you have lots of help.

Only way I would do it by my self is if I had a machine that would do the work for me. That is why it is grown up as bad as it is just to much for me to do alone

Rich 62 come on you still a kid. I'm 66 and recently cleared a trail about 15 ft x 500 on a steep hill side. It took me 3 days to clear. Did it with my electric chainsaw and generator. Then it took me about 3 weeks to get over the pain. The trail is so steep, I couldn't go up it with the terramite, it wanted to flip backward. Only the Kaw mule can climb it in 4 wheel.

Next time I get the urge to do something like that again, I'll take a 3 week rest between working days.
