So I am working on this wood splitter for this guy. Figure since the engine sits so the carb is out in the open get it running then after it runs good turn it 180 to hook up the hyd pump. So got it to fire up and it has a knock to it. Figure it is the loose shaft going to the love joy coupler and pump. So remove the shaft and fire it up and has a very bad knock to it. Call the guy and he says well I have a 5HP B/S engine will that work and I said maybe unless you push it to hard then it will bog down and die but other then that should work

If I was to try something like that on the cheap, I would look around for a used snow blower engine with electric start.
Of any power equipment, used snow blowers don't have many hours on them and can be had cheap.

In Missouri snow blowers are not easy to find since there just not used here much. Plus this is a job I am doing for a costumer so it is up to him to get an engine

If they could be had cheap then I would have one but that is not the way it is here in Ohio, long way from cheap if you would even find any used ones.
