Air powered gasket scraper

Bought one of these about twenty years ago, what a thing of beauty, used it to remove a pan gasket from a tractor engine that hasn't been apart for about 25 years, don't use it very often but when it's needed what a magnificent tool.

I have one.
Like you, I bought it at least 20 years ago.
Mine is a Snap-on . I don't use it hardly at all anymore. I use scotch pads on a angle buffer to tackle gaskets now..
That old air scraper would have fun on these aluminum parts we have to deal with now..

yeah , that was my problem with them , you had to be real careful and keep just the right angle on Aluminum.....

That's what I have used for the last 30 years at least. Just have to be careful of the dust. You never know what old thing you are working on and some gaskets could have asbestos in them.

(quoted from post at 17:12:12 01/24/15) I have had 2 snap on gasket scrapers. Work fine the first time you use it but after it sits it will never work again.

Oil it every time you use it.

I use a regulator ahead of mine to adjust the speed so I just turn the valve wide open to turn it on. If I have the pressure set low for slow speed operation sometimes it is necessary to bump the scraper to get it going.

Hard to tell how many hours that tool has saved me over the 25 years or so I've owned it.
