email question........expunge?????

so in my network solutions email here at the shop, i send the stuff to the trash file and then every couple days hit the empty folder button. there is another button there called "expunge folder" what does that do? tried googling it but gave me all kids of legal-eze lingo. does that permanantely clean out the trash file ? i dont like pressing buttons that i dont know what they do.

As with any computer no files are actually deleted... They are tagged for overwrite.

They remain on your hard drive until written over or the disk is reformatted.

Short answer, the button should delete EVERYTHING in the folder as opposed to doing it one item at a time. If your still worried about it, it is the trash folder, so it's not going to hurt to try it and see for yourself, given that you trashed the emails anyways.

As I get older it seems I have more buttons that, when pushed, "expunge" my ire on the offending idiot.....LOL
