I Think It Will Work

Sure would have been faster and maybe cheaper to buy a bolt together welder cart on ebay. I used rusty old wind mill and other scrap angle iron. I use the legs from an old BBQ grill and the steps from the wind mill for hooks. I bought a couple of 7/16" bolts for rear axles. The welder was just to heavy for this old man to lug around. I went thru a band saw blade, three grinder discs, four cut off wheels and two cut off wheel mandrels and most of a 2 pound roll of welding wire.

Camera angle. It looks a lot taller in the picture. The size is the same as the ebay jobs. With the welder on top it is bound to be a tad top heavy. I put fifty pounds of my tractor pulling weights where the tanks would set. I have another 100 pounds of those weights that I can put on the bottom if needed for outside.

It Probly won't see paint. The few weld droops won't get ground either. I may add a hook or two if needed.

I did similar when I got my wire welder.

Only I used the angle iron from Chinese shipping crates. How else you gonna learn to run the thing if you don't make something with it?

Mine is probably about as tall as yours and it hasn't tipped yet.

I was thinking a bit top heavy too, glad to hear its not really.

Nice to use the tool to make the tool easier to use. :)

I had my wire welder setting in my kid's old Radio Flyer wagon for several years, but then someone decided the Radio Flyer would better serve as a garden cart, so I built a cart out of scrap iron and salvaged caster wheels. Made it low enough so it could be rolled under the bench, and out of the way.

I wish that my mig welder cart would come up to the top of the list. I bought a cart about twelve years ago, and maybe two months later I backed into it and bent one of the uprights. Ever since I have to hold it up in the front with both hands in order for it to go straight.

Mine's on about a 1970 metal roll around tv cart, but it could use some kind of wheel update.
