Homemade Tubing Bender

I'm sure it's been discussed on the forum in the past, but I'll ask again.
Has anyone on here ever made their own tubing bender?
I need to make one to bend some 3/4" DOM tubing.
Would like to be able to make dies to bend larger and smaller tubing.
New ones are way to pricy.
I'm hoping someone on here at some time made a simple but effective bender.
Thanks, Jeff

If you are not using real thick wall tubing you could probably bend it with a 3/4" EMT tubing bender. I have bent 1/2 inch water pipe like that.

(quoted from post at 19:21:29 01/12/15) Try filling it with sand and use a Conduit pipe bender. This tool is rather cheap.

Or fill it with water and freeze overnight.

If only one bend take it to a muffler shop they would probably do it for little or nothing

I have taken a 3/4 EMT conduit bender and machined it with a 1 inch ball mill to change it to 1 inch od tubing. It took many loosening and reclamping into the vise to get the new radius cut into the bender . It worked good. In your case you would start with a 1/2 inch bender and machine it out to 3/4 inch outside dia. .

Good video. I actually have a bender like that but it is old Made in USA from a plumber who did heat piping in concrete floors . This was experimental at the time and was sponsered by Sun Oil. They used it to make u shaped pipes that ran under the pour. The only thing I tried it on so far is exhaust tubing which is too thin and will kink.I see lots of other bending vidoes too.

be careful!!

I made one with a steel cable sheave to bend 1/2" tubing.
Cable sheaves have a round groove, V pulleys tend to squash the pipe.
