Hello,! own a '48 Cub in Michigan. Using elec space heater when temp below 20F. I am looking to buy a magnetic block heater, and another extension cord and timer. I have read Amazon reviews of Kats, and a number of people say plastic cover had meltdown. Maybe timer is cure for that. The zerostart by phillips-temro has thermostat so max temp is 250F instead of 350-400F for Kats 300W unit. This may be enough heat with the zerostart, but safer than Kats. I am asking-does anyone have experience using these? Please post results! Thank you!

A magnetic heater is only an auxiliary heat source to warm an oil pan. Heat will not reach the combustion chambers.
Install a proper external tank heater and be done with it.

I've got 1 hanging on the wall in the shop, waste of money, been going to toss it in the scrap, just never thing about it when I'm carting it out.
