The situation is an antique horse drawn sickle mower, used as a yard ornament. Mom was moving it and hooked the sickle on a tree and broke the tongue pocket off the cast iron frame.
On closer inspection it broke where it had been broken and welded (poorly) at some time in the past.
I want to stick it back together again if I can.
What are my options? Nickel rod? Any other ideas? Do you have to wear a respirator when welding with nickel rod?
Thanks! Kelvin
