Finally broke down and bought a new helmet. Dropped my lens while changing the clear lens and broke it about 6 months ago. Has had a couple spots that didn't change since then making welding a challenge for sure. Picked this up today, it's a Lincoln Viking 3350 as you can see on the box. Ths helmet was on sale for $240.00, so with a couple cheater lenses and some extra clear lenses and pair of gloves I got out for $310.00. Kinda anxious to try it now.

I've seen cheap ones from HF promoted. But I couldn't bring myself to gamble with my eyes. I bought one at the local welding shop.
Are you going to use it to weld up that leaking line?

No, at -10 deg I decided to let the dealer fix the leak. Been using electronic helmets for 20 or more years. The first one did give me burnt eyes the first time, but never again. This one is several thousand times faster for reaction times.

I weld for a living 9 plus hours a day and have a 3M speed glas and wouldn't change for anything. Biggest thing for me was because of the hours welding I needed something light. Used a Jackson for a long time but was heavy compared to the 3M

I had a couple speed glass helmets years ago and thought they were good too. I didn't like that you needed special clear lenses so went with a jackson last time. It was still good til I dropped it and broke it. Couldn't justify twice the money for the amount of welding I do now.
