I'm rebuilding my Walker 93642 floor jack. I'm to the point of removing the center tube. Is it necessary to remove the tube? There are 2 large 1 1/2" lip seals that I'm unsure about as well. Can anyone shed light on these? Thanks for your time. Gerard

The last one I did I found a bad check ball and found a replacement from my carb parts stash so I did not have to go any farther... If it has a issue with the lift cylinder yes it would come completely apart...

Not sure what Tube means unless its the outer housing,,, if so then you may be OK leaving it B....

I can't help you with how to take a jack apart, because when I tried to rebuild a jack, parts weren't available. So before you go too far see about parts. Then I went to NAPA to buy their best jack and a repair kit. Same story, parts are not available. So, I went across the street to HF. I figure if parts aren't available I better not spend a lot of money.

I really like HF's 2 ton aluminum racing jack, especially when I have to put it in the truck, very light.

Yup, same deal here. Along with almost everyone else I know that had one of them my high buck 2 ton Walker was back for repairs under warranty, then once on my buck, then no parts available, it went to China. My 3 Harbor Freight Hein Warner clone 3 ton jacks will lift more and have been trouble free.

Thanks for the replies. I bought a seal kit. Couldn't believe how much gunk was built up in there. According to Walker the center tube is torqued to 500-550 ft. lbs. I didn't want to distort it taking it off.

If you removed the relief valve assy (I did) you will have to mess with it to get it adjusted to your liking... I WISH I had thought to count the turns as I turned it out and set it back the same... O-WELL---

Hobo, Thanks for the reply. I tried loosening the allen set screw inside the mounting hole but it's a bit tighter than my allen is strong. Can't believe you didn't count the turns. :>). I always count turns on tie rod ends:(. I might have to try a hot wrench or have someone sit on the other end of my table where my vise is mounted. to get that center tube to move.

So, I'm not the only one who discovered parts are not available.

I have 2 two ton HF low profile aluminum racing jacks and 2 three ton HF jacks.

I love the 2 ton low profiles.

you guys are buying (homeowner) floor jacks. Do you have a professional tire shop that will order you a professional jack? If not buy a Mac or Snapon. We wore out the frames on those and never had a problem with the actual hydraulic parts.
