Harbour Freight batteries

I have never bought any there, but I have at the Dollar Tree, and most of theirs are carbon-zink, not alaline! They work ok for low drain applications, like a gps or a smoke detector, but not very well when you need a lot of power. The best deal on alkaline's is when Menards has a sale.

That's one thing I've never bought from HF.

When I was doing real estate inspections, for my digital camera I had the best luck with "Energizer" rechargeable batteries. I'd sometimes take over a hundred photos a day.

Hello Steve- Maine,

NO! Even the Lithium batteries are WAY over rated.
Get some rechargeable. Everready is a good brand. Got bunch AA 2000 Mah, no problem,

Guido.

Rechargeable? I've never had any that were any good, of any brand. All garbage.

They're always dead when you need to use whatever they're in. The only way they're charged and ready to go is if you leave them in the charger, but unless you have a fancy expensive charger all it does is boil the batteries until they're no good anyway. If you leave them too long without charging they go bad.

The old red HF alkalines were OK, but they leak eventually. Never had a single problem with Rayovac alkaline batteries, though, and you can buy them 16, 24, 36 , 48 at a time pretty cheap at Home Depot.

the higher the ma the better the battery seems to handle discharge and charge cycles.

I have 12 of the green and 12 of the black AA rechargeables from harbor freight. the black are more ma. the green are? 2200-2500 don't hav ethem in front of me.

We use them in hand held shure and sennheiser hndheld wireless mics, and body packs for guitar and in ear monitor systems.

i get about 8 hours of use out of 2 AA in those applications. batteries are 16m old currently.

Rechargeable battery technology has improved a great deal in the last few years, atleast for NiMH. Used to be that if you did not use them within 24-48 hours of charging, the buggers were half gone from self discharge. For the last couple years I have been getting AA and AAA NiMH rechargeable that claim to hold 80% charge for a year. So far that seems to be true, I can leave a device set around for months and still have a near full charge when I need the device. I dont have any right here, but I believe they are Duracell and Rayovac brand.

I used to use HF power cordless grease guns. They were 12V with NiCad batteries. I got good service out of them and was always puzzled why HF could sell replacement rechargable batterys for $15 while the same voltage and MAH capacity Lincoln grease gun battery, also made in China, was on the rack priced at $60-70 ???
