floor cleaner

What can I buy to clean my concrete shop
floor (grease and oil,) without using
water. To cold to pressure wash this week
and need to do this by this weekend.
(Having a party) shop is heated. (No floor
drains) looking for something I can spray
on and sweep up, our use with floor
dry.....any such product available?

Good old cat liter works well. Throw it down then walk all over it seep it around and walk over it again

If the surface is glazed, try oven cleaner and a wire brush. That should get the surface clean, at least to the point it won't track.

If the surface is porous and you don't mind loosing a little concrete, some muriatic acid will get it clean and pretty much the same color as it was originally.

Floor dry or cat litter, then scrub it into the floor with a brick. Then sweep or vaccum it up.Works for me on wet and "dry" oil stains. gobble

Use the same thing you clean parts with and then soak up with floor dry/cat litter. Friend always used the solvent he used for cleaning parts, worked great. chris

Got any future building projects in the works?
A 8 or 10 sheets of 1/2" OSB layed out on the concrete would make a nice clean floor for a party. Use them later for sheathing on the roof or walls.
OSB would be better than plywood as it lays flat and doesn't curl.
About $9 for a 4X8 sheet.

Not an answer to your immediate question, but something to consider in the future: an industrial-grade epoxy finish (not the less-than-worthless junk the box stores sell). It is absolutely the best part of the shop I built 8 years ago. Oil puddles can sit for months(!!), hit them with the Oil Eater stuff you get at Costco, wipe it up with a rag, and it's clean as a whistle. Wet mop it when the weather is nice if you wish. Dust is easily swept. Moreover, a white or cream color really helps to brighten things up.

Do what matthies said , it is very effective and
cheap, also works better than most other ways.

I use mineral spirits or safety kleen , spread
some on a section ,scrub with junk broom, spread
floor dry , go home, tomorrow sweep it up and do
another section. If not white do it again. Been
doing it for 40 years.

I use the generic Speed-Dri that TSC sells. It is $6.00 for 40 lbs. Spread it on and leave it a day or two. It seems to do a good job for us.

There are various "Freezer cleaner" products out there. Check at restaurant supply houses.

My garage is heated no floor drains also, I sweep, than mop with a mop bucket. Water and parsons Amonia. Cleans up nice and drys quick.

(quoted from post at 09:04:19 01/04/15) I've goggled it and can't find where to buy this stuff !! Anybody have a clue?? Jim in N.M.

it looks to me like diatomaceous earth, any pool supply.

Hand out free peanuts in the shell at the door. Have everyone throw the shells down and trample them all around.
Works for the local Rural King store ? LOL

I use diesel fuel. Broom it in, spread oil dry, and let sit over night. Sweep it up and reuse the oil dry.
