lined jeans

Anyone know of companies making loose/carpenter fit lined jeans? I have one pair of Carhartt flannel lined carpenter jeans I bought a couple years ago but they are no longer available. All I have found are relaxed fit jeans which I don't find comfortable.

"Roundhouse" brand. Made in the U.S. and cheaper than Carhart. While they are not "lined", they do have the double layer front on the legs. Also a hammer loop on the left, and a fold up rule pouch on the right.

Rich;

At the risk of seeming to be one of those people who either didn't read the question or didn't understand it, have you considered long underwear instead of lined jeans? I have gotten in the habit of wearing long underwear all winter, and it has advantages and disadvantages over lined jeans. On the plus side, it's an inexpensive and readily available way to get additional padding and insulation, and you don't have to buy more jeans or more expensive jeans. It also lets you wear the same jeans year round---lined jeans might be too warm for summer wear. On the minus side, long underwear is much less convenient to put on than simply slipping on a pair of jeans. Another problem, a major one actually, is that long underwear can slow you down at a particular time when you may least wish to be slowed down. In that regard, I'll say that I do not like to walk up to a crowded trough type urinal in a public place and spend the first fifteen or twenty seconds fumbling around through three layers of clothing; I'm sure you take my meaning. Otherwise, not too bad.

WalMart online has fleece lined carpenter jeans for $25. They don't usually stock them in stores

Always happens that I find a style of jean or shoe that I like and they immediately discontinue it! The link below is to a Youtube channel I enjoy--the gent in question lives in South Dakota in a log cabin with no electricity and enjoys puttering around with old tractors, old vehicles, old rifles and old tools, among other things that I also enjoy. The video deals with a similar frustration with a particular style of Carhartt jean he couldn't find, and he ended up being able to purchase them direct from the factory--might be worth a try.

Sportsman's guide has them. Can even have some choices as to the insulation type. Flannel or 100 gram Thinsulate. From about 35.00to 50.00 a pair.

I do have some unlined jeans from Dickies, they are good jeans and a tad less expensive than Carhartts. I have searched their site in the past but with no luck. Will try again, or try calling to see what they have.

I do know what you mean, that is certainly not the time one likes to be slowed down! I do have a couple pairs of long underwear, only issue is most are made for folks longer legged than I. Even with that, I may just go that route more if I don't find jeans I have in my mind.

I may try what he did and contact Carhartt directly and see what could be done. He seems like an interesting guy, certainly isn't afraid to speak what's on his mind.

Thanks, I was trying to think of who made the "ballroom jeans" but I was getting nowhere until you said the name. I will give them a look.

Gemplers came to mind so I checked them out. I was shocked that they don't have hardly anything lined. I wear lined exclusively in the winter, even to church. Carhart fits me the best.

Dungarees.net carries Carhartt brand and they have flannel lined jeans, or at least the style I wear. B236 Flannel lined washed denim dungaree fit $49.99.

(quoted from post at 19:50:07 12/28/14) Check "Diamond Gussett" for high quality American made jeans.

Ditto

Waist sizes are in 1 inch increments from 32-38

I don't have the lined jeans, but I do wear the relaxed fit Industrial Blue jeans. They fit well and the crotch gusset helps prevent "pinching" when sitting or squatting. Pockets are of heavier material than cheaper jeans or even Levis and Wranglers.
Well worth the extra expense IMO.

well, depending on where you live, longjohns are a 8 months of the year thing...all day..every day...everywhere LOL
ok then, jeans.
I'm much too cheap and too hard on jeans to spend the big bucks for lined ones for outside/shop work.
over the longjohns, go a $5 pair of sweatpants, then cheap jeans.
warm, padding, and when the jeans are destroyed or stand up by themselves...in the trash they go.
Also, then the muddy/greasy/snowy jeans can come off in the back room before I walk into the house, so I don't hear that...scream :D

ps a pair of scissors taken to the sweatpants in the right place will help that other 'problem'

another ps, truly brutal cold, lined sweatpants under too big jeans are cheaper and work well. The jeans protect the more delicate sweatpants, and you have your pockets.

Saw flannel lined jeans recently - I think it was at Fleet Farm or TSC... can't remember which store.

The store-brands of Under Armor long johns are really warm, very thin - but cheaper (Chill Chasers is one brand)... and can be worn with any pair of jeans. Our kids like them too - teenage even wears them to school on really cold days.

In my case, the thickness of three layers of clothing (four, actually, counting the drawers) would be enough to nullify the attempt. I'm sure you know what I'm saying.

Yes, that's the problem, isn't it? Multiple layers, some of them with different configurations than equivalent items you wear on other days, will nullify the attempt, but not the need. All I can say is that in such circumstances it's a lot better to be home than out in public. But, so far so good.

When you are talking 3 layers, forget the jeans, and get into bibs, or coveralls.
And yes I am in longjohns everyday from mid November to late March. Amd I have about 10 pair, all different weight from Pennys white cotton to mid weight sweats.

Size and fit varies with different brands. I prefer Carhart flannel lined jeans but sometimes I wear Full Blue brand. A 38" waist Full Blue fits me the same as a 40" waist Carhart. Full Blue tends to have more room in the legs but Full Blue is thinner fabric. I don't know where you live in Iowa but Bomgaars carries both of these brands.

Rich, Try Duluth Trading Company www.duluthtrading.com they really make some good products. including lined jeans take a look at their Fire Hose Pants (tough as nails) they sell some good quality products with Great Customer service. -MADE IN AMERICA- Bet that!!

I second the Duluth Trading lined firehose pants. I wear the regular firehose pants on a regular basis due to the great durability and excellent comfort. Working in construction I tend to be outside on occasion in the lovely Wi winters. I bought 2 pairs of the lined fire hose pants 2 years ago and absolutely love them. They are the warmest and most comfortable lined pants I have worn, plus they hold up well. They have 2 variations flannel and fleece. Mine are the fleece. I've used them for work, general outdoor stuff in winter and ice fishing. They are kind of pricey ($70) or so, but Duluth runs plenty of sales and email specials to knock the cost down, plus they have a great warrenty if they ever fail you, I have sent back 2 pairs of the regular firehose pants that were very well worn, they took them back no questions and sent me 2 new pairs. I sound like a spokesperson, but I have just been very happy with the quality of their products and customer service.

c.e schmidt from TSC has them on sale on line for 20 bucks with free shipping if you have them sent to your local store. I just searched for "lined jeans"
