Was loosing water from my semi, thought it was a motor problem since there was never anything on the ground. But then I lifted the bed and saw antifreeze around the bunk heater. The antifreeze was dropping right onto the muffler and burning up so it never hit the ground. So today I decided to take it apart and fix it. Thought it would be an interesting welding job, but it turned out not to be.
Here are some pics of what I had to deal with.
Had to remove the closet to get to these two bolts.
Had to pull the unit out to get the core out.
Once I got it out I pressure tested it and found that the leak was where the tank attached to the core. I've run into this before with these plastic tanks, they are held on by just crimping a metal ring around them and they get loose and leak.
So I just had to crimp it with a vicegrip to seal it up again.
Then just put everything back together. About 3 hours to take it apart and put it back together, and 10 minutes to fix the part.
