2 days ago I was laid off from my job, only temporary says my boss, But it will become permanent in a month or 2. The sales of the company I work for have dropped by 1/2.
15 people in total have been laid off this week.

Please ask the good Lord above that I find new employment quickly.
I have never been without a job before.

Thanks.

That is tough especially this time of year. But I encourage you to start looking now. I have found two good jobs over the years that started this time of year. One started January 1, and the one I have now, I just had my 11th anniversary last week. (If you can weld, and can move, Quincy IL has lots of jobs)

That sucks, but life will go on. Wife got terminated in mid November, but this too shall pass. My experience is, and I have held a lot of jobs. Hunt for a job just like you were going to work.
There are lots of jobs around here for welders, truck drivers and ranch hands. Problem is, you and the Mrs. need to be able to live out in the TOOLIES, and that means 40 plus miles to the grocery store.

IF your willing to WORK you will be able to find a job. It may not be what you want for a life time or even as much money as you would like but there are jobs out there. Always has been.

The only difference is how well you like the job and what your paid.

You will find that if your older it might be harder in some job but usually it does not matter too much. Older people usually have a more mature work ethic an most employers know this.

Work at finding a job like it is a job and you will find work.

I feel you will do well. So good luck in the job hunt and have a Merry Christmas.

I found my first job this very week back in 1968, and I kept it for 26 years til they went BK. Then I hired on with a Case dealer for the remainder ....

Sorry to hear that. God has something better waiting for you!

I've worked for companies that were teetering on the edge, not fun! Never had to stick it out to the end, something better always came along.

Prayers friend, I too have been in your shoes. I hope you find something quickly, trust that there is a better path ahead.

Hello Wile E,

One door closed and another will open. Only lazy people "can't find work". You are in my prayers,

Guido.

After my 2 surgeries the other year, I found I couldn't do what I've done for the last 40 plus years.. So I retired.. PERS and "So So" security.. We did alright.. I found myself getting really short with my wife and just ------ off in general.. I love my wife , I just can't do 24-7 with her.. I found a selling job, selling truck equipment that turned out to be a God send.. 4 days a week at salary plus commission.. Cat gets me up at 5;30 plenty of time to wake up and get started.. Something will come around.. Just keep your ears to the ground and chase down any lead you get.. Auto parts delivery will get you a lot of leads, You have to get out and about to hear about any openings..
