The kitchen sink is plugged again(dam disposal). 1 1/4 pipe with at least three 90 deg bends. What is the recommended sewer tape style and size? I have a 25ft 1/4 wire spring style and it is too short. If I have to buy another what do you recommend?

I quit messing with tape, snake or whatever you call it. I just disassemble the drain, clean out the blockage, flush it out and put it back together, usually faster than trying to clear the blockage with a snake - and it will stay cleaner longer.

Maybe you need to take a look at re-plumbing differently to eliminate at least one of those 90 degree bends?

With those bends, get rid of the disposal.
To clear the current clog get down to the schedule 40 pipe and get one of those rubber bladder thingys that go on the end of the hose. They swell up seal and then force water thru the pipe. After it runs flush it well.

Most water blasters have a ' drain snake ' attachment available . My Storm water drains block up with Autumn leaves every few years . The snake is just a small 2'' nozzle that fits onto the end of the pressure hose without the wand . I can feed it down 30 ' of pipe and clear a blockage in seconds . Used the same thing on a sewer pipe, took all of ten minutes to clear a really persistent blockage .

Would it be practical to splice in a clean out? Then you could go at it from 2 different places with the snake you have. For a disposal, need to size up to 1 1/2 or larger if possible.

I have the same problem with the hand wash sink at work, gets clogged with grease, usually 2 or 3 times a year. Always snake it out, nasty job!

I bought a jug of "Hair and Grease" drain cleaner from Home Depot. Comes in a black bottle inside a plastic bag. A plumber was there, he was buying some, highly recommended it. I poured in a half gallon, let it sit overnight, hit it with 5 gallons of hot water the next morning. That was 6 months ago, it's draining better than it ever did!

The plumber recommended give it a small dose about once a month, better to keep it flowing than to get it flowing. If only I could remember to do that...

that drain pipe should be 2". Had the same trouble & replaced it with the 2" & installed clean-outs. Problem solved.

Lots of good info here:

I think a kitchen drain that small might be illegal in most places, but if that is what you have then you really should not have a disposal, and you should carry all kitchen waste out to the trash. Even with a good disposal and proper drain you must never put potato or other vegetable peelings, or egg shells down it. Egg shells set up like plaster in your pipes.

Given that you are plugged now I think the suggestions freom the others to use the pressure bladder are right on. If you are lucky you will blow up those three 90s and get the opportunity to plumb that part better.
