Don't know what you call it, but if you buy a new combine elevator chain from Deere, one of those is holding the master link together and the cotter pins are threaded on it. Have also seen metal tags attached to parts with them.

I don't know what they are called, but they look like the rings crimped on a bag of seed potatoes. They come in different sizes.
 
those are simply hog rings, used to crimp into pigs top of nose, help keep from rooting under fences or rooting instinct period. use to do it alot back in the day when raised hogs on pasture ground.
 

Yup, we used to have those around. They were for closing bags, only my dad had them for closing samples bags of sand/ gravel for road construction.
