Is it a lead head? That's what they used on our quonset in 57, leaked pretty bad after a few years. I always talked about going up there with silicone calk and sealing it, but never did. Folks retired and sold the farm in 76, current owner tore it down about 2010. Probably would of lasted another 50 years if I would of fixed it, the steel was still good and was salvaged. One of those things, should of, could of!

In colder climates, those lead head nails had a habit of working their way back out of the wood. My brother had to screw down the roofs several years after they were originally nailed.

I have hundreds of lbs of those things new and salvaged. All our barns and sheds are done with them. Back themselves out every 5 years, used to hammer back in, now replace with screws.
